A story doing the rounds here is that COP17 is like a doughnut.  The centre of it is just air.  The sweet part is all around the edges.

On the subject of nuclear, President Zuma listened to speaker after speaker today saying that civil society did not want nuclear.  When Zuma spoke, he reassured the audience that South Africa had indeed abandoned its nuclear weapons programme, and was now pursuing ‘clean nucear power’. Perhaps President Zuma was being a bit dense, and missing the point. Or perhaps he had been very well briefed, and was cleverly answering with a lot of spin.
